Economic Development

Our Economic Development initiative fuels local progress, creating opportunities where they're needed most. We're committed to fostering entrepreneurship, job training, and sustainable initiatives that pave the way for brighter futures.

Bricks and Hops Beer Garden
Bricks and Hops Beer Garden, located in the Bronx, carries 30 craft beers on draft and 20 craft beers in cans while providing a full kitchen for lunch and dinner. Bricks and Hops is dedicated to fostering economic development in the community by only hiring local staff from its community. With the motto of “Keepin It Local”, the company also serves locally brewed beers from the city and state of New York. Bricks and Hops provides a safe place for local customers to enjoy good food, drinks, and company while opening opportunities for staff to learn and grow. LEARN MORE
Farish Forward Festival
Farish Forward Festival is a one-day celebration in Jackson, Mississippi that showcases national and local talent, promotes local businesses, and offers a range of activities and attractions for attendees of all ages. The festival features live musical performances, art exhibitions, interactive workshops, food vendors, education and finance panels, and more. LEARN MORE

Boogie Down Backpack Giveaway
This back-to-school event brings together the community right before the busy school year with some economic relief in the form of backpacks, school supplies, food, and many more services, all at no cost to the community.
Christmas In The Bronx
The last event of the year always brings happiness and joy to the neighborhood with a hot breakfast meal and toy giveaway. The highly anticipated event, made possible through the unwavering support of the Willie and Aikisha Foundation, is here to fill the lives of underprivileged children near the Melrose projects in the south Bronx. It's a day when dreams come true: we provide bouncy house fun and essential school supplies, toys, bookbags, and much more. This event is our way of giving back to the incredible community surrounding us.

Health is wealth, and our Health and Wellness initiatives prioritize physical and mental well-being. We’re committed to building healthier, happier lives through medical outreach, wellness campaigns, and community partnerships.

Team Jean Walk For Lupus
The Willie and Aikisha Colon Foundation supports the Lupus Research Alliance and is very grateful for their continued support of us. The Lupus Research Alliance (LRA) brings together thousands of people to MetLife Stadium for the New Jersey Walk with Us to Cure Lupus to raise lupus awareness. The Willie and Aikisha Colon Foundation formed Team Jean in memory of Willie's mother, Jean Davis. Team Jean participates in this walk and raises money for lupus awareness each year. We would love you to support TEAM JEAN!!!
Willie Colon's Golf Outing
Started in 2014, the Willie Colon Golf outing has raised over 3 million dollars for the Jean Davis Lupus Research Grant. Willie started this grant when he returned home to New York to play for the New York Jets. He was and still is determined to do all he can to find a cure for lupus. The golf outing is one of the year's highly anticipated events, selling out every year. LEARN MORE

Our Sports programs go beyond the game. We use the power of sports to instill discipline, teamwork, and confidence in the next generation. Whether through training camps or financial literacy, we're shaping well-rounded individuals who excel in life's arena.

Youth Football Camp
The Willie and Aikisha Colon Foundation proudly launches our Youth Football Camp set to kick off this August. At the heart of our commitment to community well-being, we're thrilled to be a part of this initiative. Designed for young talents in the Bronx, NY and surrounding areas, this program promises a world of excitement, skill-building, and teamwork.

The Willie and Aikisha Colon Foundation first Historically Black College and Universities (HBCU) College Fair in the Bronx was a great success.
